The Kranji Countryside
is also heaven to fauna and flora. The Kranji Marshes
is the remaining freshwater marshland habitat in Singapore.
The rich marshes encroached the reservoir are home to
many rare water birds and plants. There are several
disused country roads that connected to some remote
corners of the area that is worthwhile exploring for
nature lovers and weekend hikers.
Walking on the kilometre long gigantic
Kranji Water Pipeline is one interesting
way to enjoy the fauna and Flora of the Kranji Countryside.
The pipeline runs adjacent to the reservoir over swampy
marshes, shady woodlands, shrubby bushes, hidden ponds
and no man’s orchards. This is definitely nice
and pleasant stroll on the pipeline to enjoy nature
