Pulau Kukup is the second
largest uninhabited mangrove island in the world and is easily
accessible from Kukup – a 150 year-old fishing
village. The island is approximately 650ha and surrounded further
by another 800ha of mudflats. Park facilities available include
a boardwalk running right into the heart of the island, a suspension
bridge and an airy that offers a bird’s eye view of the island.
Kukup is essentially a fishing community known for its fish
farms and seafood restaurants. There are three villages, which
are also worth visiting owing to their rustic and charming ambience
– the village of Air Masin, Kampung Melayu and Kukup Laut.
