Khao Yai National Park was designated in September 1962 as Thailand’s first national park. It is the nearest national park to Bangkok but one of the largest in the region national with a forest conservation area of 2168 square km.

Walk quietly and you may see hornbills, trogons, barbets, bulbuls, laughingthrushes drongos and other forest birds. Making it one of t he top birding spot in Thailand.

Crashing in the canopy could be squirrels, macaques, gibbons.

Rustlings in the undergrowth could be lizards, jungle fowl, snakes, deer and you are lucky, you may even see tiger.

About 15 Park Ranger sub-stations surround Khao Yai National Park. Ranger Station 9 is located at Kaeng Hin Peong at the Southeastern fringe of Khao Yai. Sai Yai River (River water source from Khao Yai) runs across Kaeng Hin Peong and it is a popular place for nature exploration and white water rafting activities.
